This role is for someone who has experience selling technical solutions to the pharma/biotech industry.  This is not a pharmaceutical sales rep position.

Job Description

Seeking a collaborative, strategic, performance focused executive to lead our go-to-market function in order to build a growth engine with CAGR of 25% of higher. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will drive our overall strategy with a strong track record of working with executive teams to build an effective sales organization., a culture of excellence with impeccable value system.

This role will lead the go-to-market strategies, sales methodologies, pipeline building, demand generation, field marketing and all aspects of sales function in generating the revenue. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of selling in a consultative techno-functional environment. The individual will build effective, trusted, collaborative relationships with company leaders and clients to create and execute sales strategies that support and drive success. This will include leading, managing, and developing a team of sales professionals to create integrated and aligned strategies in building a strong pipeline, global sales operations, client/partner/channel acquisition and development, and the overall performance excellence. The individual will be responsible for building a successful sales organization and selling advanced Analytics Solutions and Services to prospective and existing customers. This individual will provide the vision, strategy, and leadership required to achieve the company’s sales goals. The revenue will come from a mix of software licenses (both perpetual and/or via a SaaS model), maintenance and support as well as billable hours (for consulting and implementation services). The role requires this individual to work closely with the executive team to provide valuable insight on customer trends, market conditions, and competition.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop multi-year strategies and plans for generating new business

• Develop solution proposals and go-to-market strategies encompassing all aspects of Solutions and Services

• Develop pricing policies, including discounts, terms, and conditions

• Negotiate pricing and contractual agreements to close sales

• Identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships and alliances with key technology companies

• Implement the infrastructure, processes, and systems required to ensure the success of the sales function

• Hire, manage and develop a world-class field/sales team to build and grow the business

• Work closely with head of marketing to collaborate on all aspects of strategic marketing including branding and right messaging

• Build/Manage key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the customer base

• Establish the overall compensation system including the base, variable comp, and incentives

• Establish and operationalize a frequent field training program

• Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management

QUALIFICATIONS

• The ideal candidate will be a consultative techno functional enterprise software sales executive or a consulting services executive with experience in selling services as well as software products.

• Knowledge of (and ideally experience selling) Analytics / Big Data products or services is highly desired.

• The ideal candidate must have a verifiable track record of significantly growing a Solutions and Services business and building high performing teams.

• This individual will be creative and aggressively driven.

• This individual will be capable of driving net new business.

 

In addition, the successful candidate will have:

• 10+ years of successful executive-level enterprise sales experience in data management software or services (e.g. business intelligence, data warehousing/mining)

• Excellent skills selling at the executive level

• Ability to plan and manage both strategically and operationally

• Highly organized with very effective time management skills

• Ability to instill rigor and discipline in the sales and forecasting process

• Strong negotiating skills

• Experience managing channel partners.
